In the spirit of neighborly discussion, I've created this blog to examine how, as Christians, our focus on politics can eclipse our focus on the Gospel. By turning my gaze from the American political scene to the quieter, but more powerful teachings of Jesus, I am finding a place of renewed peace. I invite you to join me in this kitchen space where we can test an ancient bread recipe--one that omits the yeast of political doctrines. Maybe, together, we can return to using the original dough starter, the leaven that permeates the entire batch and nourishes our hearts and souls and communities.
